Paris Seventh-Day Adventist Tamil Church’s Pastor
Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! It is with deep gratitude and humility that I join you as the new pastor of the Paris Tamil Seventh-day Adventist Church.
I was born in South Korea on March 22, 1974, and by God’s grace I grew up in a Christian family where church life and Christian education shaped my early walk of faith. In my twenties I personally encountered God’s transforming love, which led me to dedicate my life fully to His service. Since then, the Lord has guided me through missionary and pastoral experiences in East Timor, South Korea, the Philippines, Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, and France.
I was ordained to the gospel ministry on January 30, 2012. In 2024 I completed a PhD in Religion at the Adventist International Institute of Advanced Studies (AIIAS), specializing in Systematic Theology. My wife Jiwon and our three children, Hyein who is fourteen, Youngin who is thirteen, and Yein who is nine, share with me the joy of serving the Lord together as a family. At present, I have the privilege of serving the Paris Tamil Church as well as the Paris Korean and Paris International Seventh-day Adventist Churches.
As your pastor I seek to follow Christ’s model of servant leadership. My desire is to uplift God’s character, proclaim the everlasting gospel of the Three Angels’ Messages, and encourage every member to grow as a disciple of Christ. I hold firmly to the words of Scripture: “Be shepherds of God’s flock that is under your care, watching over them—not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not pursuing dishonest gain, but eager to serve; not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock. And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that will never fade away” (1 Peter 5:2–4, NIV). With this calling I long to walk alongside you in prayer, worship, fellowship, and mission.
My vision for our church is that it will be a spiritual home where each person feels welcomed, strengthened by God’s Word, and empowered by His Spirit to become a witness of His grace. May our lives in Paris shine with the light of Christ as we joyfully share the hope of His soon coming.
May the Lord bless you richly and keep you faithful until His coming.
